Austin Energy wants you to save money and energy by helping you choose an efficient air conditioning system for your home. If you work with a participating contractor to replace your air conditioner with a qualifying air conditioner or heat pump, you can receive rebates averaging $350. Replacing your old air conditioner with a new energy-efficient unit can save you energy and money when a participating contractor installs correctly sized equipment for your home.

Participating Contractor Required for Rebate

Austin Energy requires that you use a participating contractor to install the equipment to qualify for this rebate. Your participating contractor can help you choose the right equipment for your home.

Additional Rebates Available by Upgrading to the Home Energy Savings program

Maximize your investment in a new air conditioner when you participate in Home Energy Savings, a whole-home approach to energy efficiency.

If you proceed with air conditioner-only rebates, you can still qualify for other rebates, special promotions, and financing options through Home Energy Savings. If you choose to participate in Home Energy Savings within six months after receiving your air conditioner rebate, you could be eligible for an additional $200 rebate.

Explore Whole-Home Energy Improvements to:

  • Replace inefficient, incorrectly sized air conditioning equipment
  • Correct poorly designed, uninsulated, leaky air ducts
  • Seal air leaks, weatherstrip doors, add attic insulation and solar shading
