Installing a variable-speed pool pump can help you save energy and keep your swimming pool clean. Austin Energy offers a rebate to help you purchase and install a new qualifying ENERGY STAR®variable speed pool pump for your home.

Most pool pumps run at one speed. Variable-speed pumps run at multiple speeds. They work at the minimum speed necessary to effectively clean your pool. If you are installing a new pool, consider asking for a variable-speed pool pump.

These pool pumps can help you save about $450 a year in electricity. You can expect:

  • Certified in-ground pool pumps use up to 65% less energy
  • Ten years of reliable operation
  • Quieter and more efficient cleaning
  • Reduced maintenance
  • Return on investment within two to three years
  • A $300 rebate from Austin Energy
