Velocity Credit Union Small Business Program

Austin Energy small business customers may qualify for a low- or no-interest loan from Velocity Credit Union. Use your loan to upgrade systems that improve comfort and reduce utility bills. Eligible improvements include:

  • Custom technologies
  • Commercial kitchen equipment
  • Property improvements and many more

  • How It Works
    1. Contact Austin Energy’s Small Business Rebates team to get started.
    2. Austin Energy will review your project to determine eligibility.
    3. Once Austin Energy has confirmed your eligibility, you will complete a loan application with Velocity Credit Union.
    4. Velocity Credit Union will review your application and make the final decision.
  • How to Qualify
    • Velocity Credit Union Small Business program loans are available only to Austin Energy commercial customers.
    • Funds must be used for Austin Energy-approved upgrades through the Small Business Bundle or Commercial Rebate programs.
    • Improvements must achieve a total estimated energy reduction of 15%. Austin Energy will review your project to determine eligibility.

PACE Financing

Texas PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) programs help businesses lower their operating costs, conserve water and energy and improve resiliency through practical financing solutions.

Owners of commercial, non-profit and industrial properties in Travis and Williamson counties can get private, affordable, long-term loans for water and energy efficiency improvements and solar generation retrofits. PACE improvements generate positive cash flow with no out-of-pocket cost to the property owner.

  • How It Works
    Private-sector lenders finance qualified improvements. Property owners agree to contractual assessments imposed on the property and gain access to more favorable rates and longer terms (typically 10 to 20 years) than most commercial lenders offer. PACE assessments complement Austin Energy incentive programs. If the property is sold before the full amount is repaid, the repayment obligation automatically transfers to the next owner.
  • How to Qualify
    • Texas PACE financing is available only to Austin Energy commercial customers located in Travis and Williamson counties.
    • Funds must be used for eligible water conservation, energy efficiency, resiliency and distributed generation projects.
    • Project savings must exceed loan payments.
    • Loan term may not exceed the useful life of projects.
    • Primary lien holder must allow the PACE loan to supersede.
